Signing up with Novelnook is easy – for both the author and the reader. The sign-up process is exactly the same for both. Once signed in though, the author will have an extra stage, which I will explain below. Let’s start at the beginning!
Once you are at the Novelnook main page, you should look for the ‘Join Free’ button at the top of the page and click on it!
It will take you to this page where you can either 1) sign up with Facebook or 2) fill in all your information. You will see that I filled in the boxes – I thought George of the Jungle would appreciate a Novelnook account!
As you can see, the last part asks if you are a reader, or an author. This is where you choose what type of account you will have. If there is ANY chance you will self-publish a book, choose author. You can still buy and read e-books so it doesn’t prevent you from reading other people’s works. I made George an author so I could show the next part of the sign-up process for authors.
After you click “Sign Up” you will get this page, which basically tells you “Go to your email to activate so you can log in!”
After you’ve done that, you will want to click on Login and put in your information. Since you signed up as an author, you will see this page!
While waiting for your author approval, you can fill out this area. Put up a photo of you and your contact details – only those two parts will be part of your public profile. Also, make sure your Paypal has been verified so you can receive your royalties asap when your book sells.
After your approval – this is what you will see as your author dashboard. As you can see, there are more tabs for you to explore once you’ve been approved!
This is my own personal screen – George’s application has been denied because he’s not real, of course.
That’s it for the sign-up process! In the next few how-to’s I will show you how to gain points to open features (including how to gain free points every day!) & what those features are, how to add a “future e-book” (aka, an upcoming novel) and how to publish one you’ve already finished.
